Migrants

 Change language:

“Migrants is a show, a CD, a network, a study and a journey to be told in a multimedia project addressed to all those who have experienced migration in their lives. An emotional journey where the historical memory is stimulated by documents (photos, videos, sounds) and from the original music. On the threshold of the third millennium, the most striking social phenomenon is the migration of huge masses or small parties of men, women and children who, like waves of a “human tide”, move to all corners of the world. Migrants today are also those young people, among whom the authors themselves, who move to different lands to realize their own dreams. Different from the migrants of yesterday, but with same wish to be accomplished, to get free, to let all their ideas and ambitions come out. The show aims to engage the public in a reflection on the subject (in its causes, in the revenge of man). It is designed in a modular form, able to adapt to different locations (theaters, concert halls, auditoriums, squares) and is aimed at both those adults who have lived the direct or indirect experience emigration, but also at younger people: it is planned to build an animation specification to illustrate the phenomenon of migration with teaching methodologies, stimulating reflection and dialogue with students. Starting at the origin of poverty. Destination: the hope of a better world Nicola Sergio – italian jazz pianist living in Paris – and Nino Cannatà – director and set designer- have been working out a live show whose aim is to look into and meditate on the topic of the journey, the landing, the welcoming, the new life settled elsewhere from the native country. It is centred on the life of those who- successfully or not- managed to carry out the brave deed, the evolutionary jump towards a new world”.
